Competition Format - Stroke play over 18 holes
Entry is limited to Players who are aged 55 or over on the day of the competition. The definition of Players is set out in Rule 5 of the Rules relating to competitions and matches.
Dependant on the venue, entry may be limited to such a number as the Executive Committee determine If the number of entries exceeds any such limit a ballot will be held to decide which of the higher handicap Players are to be excluded.
The Player returning the lowest gross score will be ’The Seniors’ Stroke Play Champion’ and will hold the ‘Championship Trophy’ for a year.
Any three Players from the same club who return the lowest aggregate gross score will be the Senior Team Champions and will hold the ‘Senior Team Trophy’ (presented by Mr. G. Horrocks-Taylor) for a year. In the event of a tie, the Senior Team Champions will be decided by reference to the lowest individual gross score in each team.
The top 8 available gross scores will be entered into the Seniors Matchplay Championship draw,
with the quarter final on Sunday 11th Aug. at Hx Bradley Hall
and the Semi-final on Saturday 24th Aug. at Dewsbury and District
with the final on Sunday 22nd September 2019 at West End golf club,
over 18 holes played in the morning or afternoon whatever the finalists agree.
Vouchers will be given for the three lowest gross scores, and the lowest net score in each of the
age groups 55-59, 60-64, 65 to 69 and 70 plus.
Entry Fee £15 – Cheques to be made payable to the HHDUGC (Do not make them payable to the undersigned). Entry can be made individually or by appending your name to the block booking form displayed in your club. Please indicate Name, Handicap, EGU ID number, Club and method of payment.

The player who returns the lowest gross score will be ‘The Seniors Champion’ and will hold The Championship Trophy for a year and receive an inscribed memento.
Closing date for entries Monday 6th May 2019. Entries received after this deadline or with no entry fee will not be entered into the draw, but put on a waiting list in case of cancellations.
The starting sheet will be sent to clubs immediately after the draw is made. Competitors are respectfully reminded to comply with the host clubs dress code. Prize-winners are expected to wear a jacket and tie when receiving their prize. The presentation will take place immediately after the competition in the clubhouse. Prizes may be withheld from individuals who do not attend (or send a representative to) the presentation.
