HHDUGC President 2011
Dear Member,
Thank you to all the officials involved in the Union for approaching me to act as your President in 2011. It is an honour for me and especially for Bradley Park Golf Club.
During the past year of my apprenticeship, as it were, I’ve had a great deal of assistance and encouragement from all members of the Executive, in particular immediate past President Geoff Ralph and our Secretary John Lawrence and I look forward to their continued support in 2011. I’m ready for the challenge ahead, working hard to keep the Union developing and moving forward. By supporting each other and with intelligent effort we shall grow stronger.
We are, of course, always on the lookout for people who want to put back something into this great game of ours. Please approach me or anybody on the Executive if you feel you could help the Union in any way. We have a new competition secretary in Mr Barry Suddick. He has lots of experience and will be a great addition to the team. l want to take this opportunity of wishing him well in his new position.
Can I thank all the Union sponsors for their support, past & present, without whom we would struggle. If you or your business are interested in sponsoring the Union, then Mr P Walton, our sponsorship secretary, is the man to contact.
I wish to give my support to Chris Mear & Tommy Ward our senior and junior team Captains. I have seen them working during 2010 and they give so much to the job. If you can come along to a match and support the teams you will be more than welcome. Let’s hope for a productive and, more importantly, an enjoyable year for them both.
There are many competitions during the year and if you get the opportunity to play in the events please take it. The member clubs generously give up their course for the day, so we want all the tee times to be taken. Many thanks to all the clubs for their continued support.
My personal congratulations to Phil Tatlock of Outlane Golf Club on his nomination as President Elect for 2011, I am looking forward to working with him during my term in office.
